
Circular Ports provides
transferable concepts and shares lessons learned to enable replication and
scaling up within the Baltic Sea Region. By fostering collaboration
between port stakeholders, the project aims to create synergies that enhance
resource efficiency, reduce waste, and improve sustainability in ports.
Centrum Balticum will take care of the
project communication.
The project works towards:
- Establishing a sound data basis for circular economy activities in ports.
- Identifying synergies between different producers and industries in port areas, fostering industrial symbiosis.
- Exploring business cases that support circular economy strategies.
- Working with waste disposal companies to enhance separate waste collection and recycling.
- Encouraging systemic changes in port communities to promote sustainable waste management.
- Assessing regulatory frameworks to improve the deployment of circular economy initiatives.
- Engaging port stakeholders through communication activities to facilitate the adoption of circular practices.
Project consortium
The lead partner is Port
of Hamburg Marketing and the project is supported by a consortium of 17 partners from countries around the Baltic Sea.
