Polish foreign minister: "Eastern dimension important for the EU external relations"
Polish foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski emphasised the meaning of the EU's eastern neighbours for the EU external relations in his article published in The Wall Street Journal. According to Sikorski, the Eastern Partnership, inaugurated in Prague Summit in May, has a central role in EU's goals to promote the democratisation and economic transition of its eastern neighbours. Besides the geography, demography and its economic potential, Eastern Europe is important for the EU for the reasons related to the European energy security.The Wall Street Journal published Sikorski's article on June 18, 2009.
