Baltic Sea Strategy

Centrum Balticum has launched a project about the Baltic Sea strategy in cooperation with Konrad Adenauer foundation.

The intention is to react to the process of drafting the Strategy, initiated by the European Union, and to influence its contents. The goal of the EU is to approve the Baltic Sea strategy in 2009. With the strategy, comprehensive development of the region is pursued. It is been prepared in the European Comission and it is supposed to be approved in the European Council, in the summit of EU.

Sweden has set the Baltic Sea strategy as one of its chairmanship's main goals in 2009.

There are two goals in the Strategy project of the Centrum Balticum. First is to produce a future vision for the Baltic Sea, and the second is to prepare an estimate of the suitability of the current cooperation system as a tool for reacting to future challenges.
