Good Governance in the Baltic Sea Area
Promoting good governance is a focal topic of Centrum Balticum. In particular,
challenges of public safety and security are common to the entire
Baltic Sea region.
Centrum Balticum addresses a special attention to the question of ownership: who and at which authority level in diverse policy areas should have the final ownership and responsibility of good governance?
A particular challenge is to encourage and facilitate co-operation between local, regional and trans-national agencies, including those within the business sector and civil society.
Good governance is self-evidently in the heart of well functioning democracy as well.
